My Coaching Approach

My coaching approach is tailored to the unique needs of the individual and has included assignments related to goal attainment, executive effectiveness, leadership competence, emotional intelligence, building strong teams, effective change management, increasing energy, building conflict competence, (re)gaining confidence, managing organizational politics, mitigating derailing behaviors, and discerning career direction, among others.

The Assessment Process

I get to know my clients quickly and deeply, as much of the work of goal attainment is mastering ourselves, our stories, and our minds.  Through assessments, powerful questions, observations, and feedback, blind spots are uncovered, limiting beliefs challenged, and potential is explored.  We meet for one-hour meetings, in person and virtually, typically over a 6-12 month period, twice a month.  Typically, coaching clients will move forward with an individual professional development plan to chart their future.

Objectives, Goals, and Outcomes

Coaching success is tied to both the client’s motivation and their ability.  I ask clients to be on a 9-10 on a 10 point scale in terms of their motivation and readiness to do this important work.  It involves homework, self-reflection, modifying behaviors and thinking, reading, practice, changing habits, and learning.

Coaching is truly transformative and it requires a partnership and commitment on behalf of the coach and client to effect that transformation.  I’m fully committed to my individual coaching client’s success.
